Common faults and analysis of piston rings
The working condition of piston rings is influenced by various factors, such as engine structure, combustion pressure, cylinder type, final finishing of cylinder surface, piston quality, fuel used, quality of lubricating oil, and the final quality of the piston rings themselves.
1. The piston ring is not wear-resistant
Poor lubrication of piston rings ensures good lubrication of piston rings
Carbon buildup on piston rings ensures complete combustion of fuel and prevents carbon buildup
The surface shape and surface treatment of the piston ring should be selected reasonably, and the surface should be treated with chrome plating, molybdenum spraying, nitriding, etc

2. Piston ring fracture
Under working conditions, the closed clearance of the piston ring is too small, and the open ends collide and are compressed. Choose the appropriate closed clearance of the piston ring
The gap between the piston ring and the bottom of the ring groove is inappropriate, and the fit gap between the piston ring and the ring groove is appropriately selected
The deformed part of the piston ring is stuck to prevent deformation of the piston ring
Piston ring vibration prevents deformation of the piston ring
Detonation causes an increase in combustion pressure, resulting in a smooth and continuous combustion process
Incorrect operation during installation, using specialized ring installation tools
3. (Oil leakage) Burning engine oil
Unreasonable selection of oil ring, reasonable design of oil ring elasticity, side clearance, etc
Unreasonable selection of gas ring, reasonable design of gas ring side clearance and other parameters
Choose the correct fit clearance when the fit between the piston and cylinder liner exceeds the tolerance
Improving the surface roughness of the cylinder by improving the roughness of the cylinder surface
Running at too high a speed within the rated speed range
Choose the correct oil for high oil viscosity
4. Adhesive bonding
Excessive piston ring temperature reduces piston ring temperature
